Our Story

Batch 22 was born out of a profound commitment to the coffee producers of Rabinal and Cubulco, Guatemala.

We believe that some of the finest specialty coffees in Central America remain undiscovered simply because smallholder farmers lack direct access to international markets.

Batch 22 Guatemalan specialty coffee producer heritage and origin story in Rabinal

Origin Knowledge Meets Market Intelligence

Our founder, Isabel, grew up with deep roots in Guatemala and a passion for specialty coffee. Working directly on the ground in Baja Verapaz, Isabel established relationships with farming families who cultivate exceptional micro-lots at high altitudes (1,600 to 1,750+ masl). Instead of blending these distinctive harvests into commercial commodity lots, Batch 22 separates each farmer's harvest, rigorously cups and scores every lot, and prepares comprehensive lot profiles for specialty roasters.

Our Core Principles

1. Uncompromising Quality

We only offer micro-lots scoring 85+ SCA, featuring distinct cup profiles ranging from bright stonefruit and lime to rich panela and dark chocolate.

2. 100% Producer Traceability

Every bag of green coffee can be traced back to the exact farm, elevation, and individual producer in Rabinal or Cubulco.

3. Sustainable Partnering

We pay premiums directly to farmers, empowering them to invest in sustainable farming, farm renovation, and processing infrastructure.
